Effective date: 10 September 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how NiciQuit handles information when you use the NiciQuit mobile app (the “App”) or contact NiciQuit through the support website. NiciQuit is designed to help adults understand and change their nicotine-use habits. It is not a medical service and does not provide medical diagnosis or treatment.
1. Information stored on your device
The App stores the information you enter and generate locally on your device. This may include:
- your chosen name and app preferences;
- nicotine products, quantities, costs, usage logs and history;
- goals, triggers, quit plans, reflections, journal entries and progress;
- activities, routes and related wellness information you choose to record or import.
This information is used to provide the App’s tracking, statistics, insights and quitting-support features. NiciQuit does not receive this locally stored information on its servers by default. It remains on your device until you delete it using the App’s reset controls or remove the App, subject to any information you separately save in Apple Health.
2. Apple Health information
If you choose to connect Apple Health and grant permission, the App may read information such as resting heart rate, workouts, workout routes, heart rate, walking or running distance, cycling distance and active energy. The App may also write workouts, routes and related activity information to Apple Health when you choose to record an activity.
Health information is used only to provide the health and activity features you request. It is not used for advertising, sold, or shared with data brokers. You control Apple Health permissions and can change them at any time in the Health app or iOS Settings. Information already saved in Apple Health is managed through Apple Health.
3. Location information
If you grant location permission and record an outdoor activity, the App may use precise location to map and calculate your route, distance and pace. Route information is stored locally in the App and may be written to Apple Health if you enable that feature. NiciQuit does not use location for advertising or unrelated tracking. You can change location permission in iOS Settings.
4. Product lookup
When you choose to look up a product by barcode, the barcode may be sent to Open Products Facts or Open Food Facts so product information can be returned to the App. Those services process the request under their own privacy terms. The App does not send your journal, nicotine-use history, Health information or location with a barcode lookup.
5. Purchases
Subscriptions and other in-app purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. NiciQuit does not receive your complete payment-card details. The App receives purchase and entitlement information needed to unlock paid features and restore purchases. Apple handles this information under Apple’s own privacy policy.
6. Support messages
If you contact NiciQuit through the support website, NiciQuit collects the name, reply email address, subject and message you submit, plus any optional app version and iOS version you provide. This information is used to review and respond to your request, maintain support records, prevent abuse and protect the service.
The support website is hosted using Cloudflare services, including Cloudflare D1 for support records and Cloudflare Turnstile for abuse prevention. Turnstile may process technical information needed to determine whether a request is made by a person rather than an automated system. Please do not include passwords, payment details or sensitive medical information in a support message.
Support information is kept only for as long as reasonably necessary to handle the request, maintain the safety and integrity of the service, and meet applicable legal obligations.
7. Sharing and service providers
NiciQuit does not sell personal information and does not use it for third-party advertising. Information is shared only when needed to provide a feature you request, operate support, comply with law, or protect users and the service. Relevant providers may include Apple, Cloudflare, Open Products Facts and Open Food Facts.
8. Your choices and rights
- You can decline or revoke Health and location permissions in iOS Settings.
- You can delete locally stored App information using Reset all data in the App, or by deleting the App.
- You can manage information stored in Apple Health through the Health app.
- You can ask about, correct or request deletion of a support message by contacting NiciQuit through the support form.
Depending on where you live, you may also have legal rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal information.
9. Children
NiciQuit is intended for adults and is not directed to children. The App concerns nicotine and tobacco-use cessation and is age-rated accordingly. NiciQuit does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the support service.
10. Security and international processing
NiciQuit uses reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect information. No service can guarantee absolute security. Service providers may process information in countries other than your own, subject to their safeguards and applicable law.
11. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when the App, support service or legal requirements change. The effective date above will be revised when a new version is posted.
12. Contact
For privacy questions or requests, contact NiciQuit through the NiciQuit Support form. Please use the subject “Privacy request” and do not include sensitive medical information.
